Construction Sealants Ltd are pleased to announce the new contract with Harry Fairclough at Chester Zoo’s Lion Enclosure. Works are soon to be completed after one operator has attended site on a three-day visit carrying out sealant to all wall joints.
Chester Zoo’s new extensive zone to rehome the Asiatic Lions, due to open in Autumn will span over 4,790 square meters and is inspired by the dry forest in India – the only place in the world where Asiatic lions still range.
Work started on the new lion habitat in November, construction and preparation of their new home is due to complete soon.
The habitat has been specially created for the lions and will be a boost to work within the European endangered species breeding program. Lions have been at Chester Zoo since the 1930s and they have always resided next to The Oakfield, creating a brand-new lion habitat in a new area has therefore been an exciting project.
