Acoustic sealants are an important part of every soundproofing project. They are used to prevent noises from filtering through the structures medium such as uneven gaps in a structure and disturbing people in other rooms or outside.
Our skilled workforce understands the importance of selecting an acoustic sealant that is best suited to the specifications of your building and the soundproofing products being installed. These can include gaps or cracks between curtain walls, fireproofing installation, partition walls, normal floor joints between floors/ceilings, windows, doors or even services running from room to room and more. This is to provide an airtight seal between adjacent rooms so no passage of sound can travel through. We also supply and install fire rated acoustic sealants of up to 5 hours if needed for your buildings specifications. Our sealants range include silicone, acrylic, polysulfide, Polyurethane etc. bases.
Our professional team will ensure before applying that all surfaces are clean and dust free, all loose or flaking surface coatings, and old sealant and mastic joints, are removed before application. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of this specialist field, ensuring that the most suitable acoustic sealant is applied to offer you the most effective acoustic insulation.
Our applicators undergo 1 to 2 years of training and are all NVQ Level 2 certified. This ensures that not only the right product is applied but also applied correctly as well, as any gap or crack will cause the effectiveness of soundproofing to be significantly less.
Acoustic Sealants are applied mainly to educational buildings such as schools, colleges and universities. An example of this would be the work we carried out at Lanfranc Academy. The application of the acoustic sealant was applied to the partition wall to ceiling junction, to form an acoustic barrier preventing cross-contamination of sound. AC50 Acoustic Sealant & Adhesive is a high strength, permanently flexible sealant and adhesive specifically formulated for sealing and bonding plasterboard and other craft lined insulation boards. Typically used for walls, ceilings and dry lining applications.
